TURN YOUR RESOLUTIONS INTO GOALS

The only way to take your resolutions seriously is to think of it as goals to achieve

I’m quite aware that 2017 commenced twenty eight days ago but I was still getting use to the idea that it’s a new year.

Not only that but I felt like I was mentally still in 2016 which felt like I was stuck in a rut.

In thirteen days, Idrus and I will officially be jetting off to start a new life… again! So, I actually feel like I’m finally heading in the right direction. I will discuss this more in a video as it’s just far too complicated to explain via  blog post so stay tuned it will be released in a couple of weeks. Now that we are moving out of Canberra I can finally say that I am moving forward and it feels a lot like 2017, Alhamdullilah.

I know I shared a cheesy New Year’s Resolution for 2017 previously but that was for some fun and games although most of the resolutions shared are true I wasn’t necessarily being serious. After reading a blog post on Sitting Pretty Style my perspective of a “New Year Resolution” has changed. Check out the post here and you will soon understand. This year, I aim to see my resolutions as goals as opposed to resolutions. I also aim to try and focus on one goal at a time so it will become more of a natural routine rather than something that I “have” to do.

More fashion related content and evolve as a blogger

This year I do hope to provide more fashion related content as opposed to lifestyle however that is not to say I am going to only be providing fashion related content. I like to share my lifestyle and personal tips and advice as well. It’s just, I started G&C to focus on fashion and that just hasn’t been the case. Since I will be living in Melbourne for a year I will not only have my best friend to be my personal photographer 😛 but I will also have my sister Remi who is also a fellow blogger to assist too.

There is always plenty of room to evolve in no matter what you do, we are always learning and growing and I hope my blog does too.

Be more creative in my style and everything else in general

I just get so lazy at times and sometimes don’t put in the effort unless I am in the mood. I think I need to start doing what I use to do and prepare my outfit the night before so that way I don’t feel so tired and lazy in the mornings which is always the case. Especially since I always snooze my alarm clock at least 5 times which only leaves me 10-15 minutes to get ready.

Save

Honestly, I cannot stress this enough. I want to save for many things but I have to focus on one main goal and that is to go too the USA with Idrus. Anything else like building my Louis Vuitton collection and purchasing my first Chanel bag need to stay on hold.  However, I will still aim to save for these as well – It just won’t be a priority.

Study + Work

In my last two years of high school I was naughty and didn’t take it seriously, lack of interest as well. I just couldn’t wait for school to be over. Fast forward eight years later, I am returning back to school. This time, in my own terms and my own expenses so there is no time to be lazy. It’s crunch time! It’s only eleven months of my life, I know I can  do this.

While Im studying I want to work as well, I only have two full days of class so there are no excuses why I can’t work. If I need to save I need to work a lot, especially if I want to save for other things as well as a trip to the USA. I still don’t know if I am going to work a casual job or look for part time, I do want something that pays well and is flexible as I will be travelling back and forth between Melbourne and Perth.

Patience & Stubborn-less

I am far too stubborn and impatient for my own good. I inherited my stubbornness from my mum. I’ve been trying to work on this for as long as I can remember. It’s time to take it seriously

Watch what I eat + exercise regularly

I don’t normally add this into my resolution/goals but after reading Harper and Harley’s post about how she schedules her time for health, I felt compelled to try her method of scheduling in the time to exercise – even if it’s as simple as going for a walk.

I really enjoyed the Kayla Itsine program, infact it is the only ‘fitness program’ that showed results. I know Remi would be interested to exercise with me as well so I think having a companion will bring a little fun into it and a great way for us to encourage one another if one of us are just not feeling it.

I also do find that scheduling things into my diary does push and encourage me to go through with it as I find it satisfying to tick it off as completed. I have read in a few articles to treat yourself every once in a while with a new fitness gear like a new sports bra or funky leggings so I want to try this method as well.

I enjoy reading, given that it’s an interesting book – of course. I read only two books last year, time to get back into it in 2017. Check out my reading challenge to see what I plan to read this year.

Balance G&C with my social life & ’me’ time

I spend far too much of my free time blogging and/or brainstorming for what to blog about. I currently post three times a week but might have to reduce it down to only two times a week since I will be studying and working. On top of studying, working and blogging I want to be able to fit in a little bit of social and relaxation time as well. Something to work on this year!
