I like myself a challenge, so here is one for this year

I enjoy reading but sadly last year I only managed to read only two books, which I didn’t even finish.  Quite disappointing considering the Previous year, I read fifteen books.  So what happened? That’s easy. Blogging came into my life! I’m not saying that blogging has ruined my life, that’s far from it. Just that, unfortunately I haven’t been able to juggle reading and blogging at the same time. Especially since I have committed to producing three posts a week, so where exactly does reading fit in? This year, I am going to figure that out and have challenged my self to read ten books. If I can read fifteen in one year then what’s ten books?

Below are ten books that I have carefully chosen to read in 2017 but I don’t want to restrict myself to these books if in the event another book crosses my eyes. However, these books have been on the top of the “To Read” list for some time now so I think it’s about time I give them a crack. Let’s go.

I Am Malala

Fortunately for me, my mum is buying this book for me so I cannot wait to kick off 2017 by giving this biography about Malala a read.

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker

I can’t remember how I came across this novel but something about the paranormal synopsis really had me at hello.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Have you seen the movie ‘The Mortal Instruments’? Well it was based on this novel by Cassandra Clare and since I enjoyed the movie I thought I’d give the book a try too. It’s a series which has it’s advantages and disadvantages but if the series is consistent through out then I won’t be complaining.

I love a good fantasy book and if City of Bones is as exotic and exhilarating as the movie then I can’t wait to begin this series.

Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

I might lose some readers by saying this but I haven’t even seen the TV Series yet as I can’t handle violent scenes so I thought I would try reading the novels instead. I have seen bits and pieces of the show and I found that I was quite intrigued so I definitely want to give the novel a try. See how I go…

Sister by Rosamund Lupton

Along with fantasy, I do enjoy a good thriller and mystery so when I came across Sister and read the synopsis I had a feeling that it could be a book that I will enjoy.

Deceptions by Judith Michael

It’s a funny story actually, I spotted this book from the person sitting next to me on the plane to Darwin in 2015 and I had a glimpse of the pages that the lady was reading and was instantly sold. I mean, I think we’ve all thought about trading places with someone, am I right? Not permanently, anyway! No life is as good as our own.

  Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

I can’t help it, I am a sucker for romance and ‘Everything, Everything’ seems quite interesting. It’s had positive ratings as well so I’m guessing it should be good. I mean, whose the guy by the moving truck? I’m too curious for my own good.

If He Had Been with Me by Laura Nowlin

Another romance novel that I’ve had my eyes set on for a while. By the sounds of the synopsis, I think it’s going to have me in tears.

Never Never by Colleen Hoover

I have read a couple of Colleen Hoover’s novels already and have enjoyed them all. So, I am confident ‘Never Never’ will be another enjoyable read and surely will have me in tears just as much.

Beautiful Redemption by Jamie McGuire

Gosh where do I start? Beautiful Disaster was the first book I ever read from Jamie McGuire’s collection and boy oh boy was I completely in love with the characters. Especially Travis Maddox! Beautiful Redemption is about Travis’ brother, Thomas Maddox. I trust that it will be as fabulous as Jamie’s previous novels about the brothers.

To help keep me motivated to stick to my challenge, I think I might introduce a new segment to Grace & Coy where I write a review on my thoughts from a book that I have read. What do you think?
