A new year calls for an updated beauty favourite recap

We all know I’ am not even close to being a make-up guru. I’d say, I’m even below what you call someone a beginner as well. I’ve also mentioned before that I rarely vamp out and buy a make-up or skincare product out of the blue and even that isn’t just out in a whim. I compare, do heaps of research, try it first if possible and watch/read reviews before purchasing it. Sometimes I’d buy something in particular if I seen it in a youtube video by my favourite vloggers too.

When I love something, I get attached so you will see some products in this post that you would have seen on a previous post. I’ll start off with mentioning new items to kick start the blog.

Nyx Professional Makeup Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Soft-Spoken is literally my go-to lippy since last year. It’s the perfect everyday lipstick if you want to look natural and not “all done up”. I like to line my lips with Kylie Cosmetics Candy K Lip Liner first, which I find makes it pinker than it really is. Alternatively, wear it on it’s own. I’ve started to wear it with Kylie Cosmetics Kristin Lip Liner for a more darker look too.

Bioderma Photoderm BB Cream in the shade Golden replaced my old favourite T Tree BB Cream from the Body Shop. I was introduced to the Bioderma BB Cream last year when I was invited to Bioderma’s new product launch event. It was seriously love at first site and instantly threw the T Tree BB Cream off the shelf. The Bioderma BB Cream has such a smooth texture with a light and dry finish and it has a high sun protection too. Mind you, I haven’t worn the product since falling pregnant due to laziness but it’s still on top of my make up list.

Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil in the shade 05 Deep has only recently made it’s way into my make up regime and I absolutely love it. This is a product that I never got to try but I researched it and was on the fence between the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil. The Precisely, My Brow Pencil turned out to have given previous customers a natural finish and they were not lying. I also love how it applies too, with its ultra fine tip and it’s creamy strokes. #obsessed. I was previously using the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and I did intend to re-purchase it when mine finished but I couldn’t find anywhere that offered AfterPay. Anyhoo, I have no regrets because now this is my favourite. I find that the Benefit brow pencil strokes a lot more smoothly, leaving a natural finish as opposed to the Hourglass brow pencil. I’d buy the Hourglass again though as it did last me a whole year and apparently the Benefit brow pencil only lasted a few people less than six months.

Natio Rosewater and Chamomile Gentle Skin Toner was used a lot last year while I was in Melbourne. I think I got this in one of the gift bags from VAMFF 2017. I may have ran out of my Miceller Cleansing Water and didn’t have money to restock it so I just started using the Natio. The Natio has a really nice and subtle smell to it and usually I love any products that smell good. It also helps that it removes the make up but don’t rely on it to remove it all off as it’s only a toner. I just realised this actually isn’t an official make-up remover but I’m not fussed because I always cleanse my face again in the shower (which I will mention soon). Once I’ve finished the Natio toner, I really want to try the Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution. I’ve just seriously fell in love with the brand ever since learning about them at their Launch last year.

Revlon Volume + Length Magnified Mascara came in my gift bag from VAMFF last year. At the time I was using Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero No Smudge Lengthening Mascara but one day I decided to give the Revlon mascara a try and I haven’t stopped using it since. I think it’s because I just love the spooly and how it applied on without leaving a mess. It’s also a lot more affordable too. However, if I was applying mascara on my bottom lashes I would opt to using the Estee Lauder as it doesn’t smudge.

Jimmy Choo Blossom Perfume was gifted to me for my birthday last year and I absolutely love it. It’s got a fruity fragrance with notes of citrus and red fruits. I can’t handle perfumes that are really strong and I find this one is easy on the nose especially while pregnant as my tolerance for scents have weakened.

Purifying Foam Cleanser is my best friend and the product I use in the shower after removing my make up with make-up remover. It really does the job and removes any excess make up and dirt off the face making me feel so fresh. The product lasts me a long time too, even when I use to wear make up every day. The tiniest bit goes a long way, you don’t need to use a lot of it. Love, love, love.

Nars Blush in the shade Orgasm has made it’s comeback in my make up regime this year. I stopped using it last year because I got lazy but I have found myself reaching for it again to add a bit of colour.

Nars Bronzing Powder in the shade Laguna has also made a comeback after neglecting it last year. I just find that the colour blends so nicely with my skin tone (if applied properly). I use this to contour and have started to contour again, only so slightly and mostly just to accentuate my cheek bones. Now and then I’ll apply it along my jaw bone as I find my face has gotten a little chubby since being pregnant.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in the shade Medium has been my best friend for three years now, I’d say. Dina Tokio raved about it and my best friend was using it too so I tried hers. I haven’t turned back since. It’s so inexpensive and does the job. I basically just wear this without foundation and apply it under my eyes as well as covering up any redness or sneaky pimples. Other than that, I’m pretty lucky to have clear skin so I just use it to help with dark circles and redness. I was using the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer before using the Maybelline concealer but the Nars is double the price. However, I do plan to buy the Nars concealer again and alternate between the two because I love both equally.

Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser is still one of my favourite moisturisers. I’ve shared a review on this previously which you can view here. I have been trying to alternate with other moisturisers, only because I’m trying to savior this for as long as possible. However, it’s still my number one daily essential =P.

Ok, I think I’ve hurt your eyes long enough with this very long post but I hope you enjoyed it neverthless and it has helped you decide if you wanted to purchase the product or not. If you have any recommendations on any products that you think I should try, let me know in the comment bar down below.
