Need new make-up? Check me out!
Even though my specialty is more fashion and lifestyle related I have found that my love for beauty has increased and I have learned to appreciate it a lot more. Skincare had already played an important role in my life growing up as my mother constantly enforced it on me. Beauty however is not really my strong point, I was the oldest with three younger brothers and my mum never wore make up because her skin was always so flawless. Therefore I never had that much exposure towards make up other than the typical lipstick and bronzer but I feel as though I am finding myself to be more and more interested. The only thing with me is that I can’t justify spending money on a new make-up or skincare product unless it’s been recommended to me by a friend or favourite YouTuber/Blogger. It also has to be easy for me to apply, if it’s too difficult or time consuming then it’s a big no-no for me.
I’ve previously shared my favourite make-up products but that was back in March and even though there hasn’t been a lot of change in my daily beauty routine I thought I would update you anyway and discuss why and how I feel the products I am currently using fit in my lifestyle.
So without further ado please see below my “Must Have Beauty Products”
This product has lasted me for as long as I can remember and I still have a fair bit to go through. It’s perfect when you want to have that coverage but you still want to have that natural “no make-up” look too. It’s super creamy to the skin and throughout the day I even forget that I have it on because the formula itself is really light.
Don’t worry, I still love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard but I didn’t feel like spending $40.00 on it so instead I opted for a cheaper alternative and works equally as efficient as the Nars concealer. I tried this baby while I was in Melbourne last month and fell in love. I love the application as well; you just twist the top part of the product a couple of times than apply it where your heart desires. It’s super easy and you don’t have to worry about getting your hands dirty.
Generally I get sick of things pretty easily, I guess you can say I have commitment issues 😛 but I still absolutely love this perfume. So much so that I will be purchasing a new one once the one I have at home finishes, which is coming close to it. I’m not very good at explaining fragrances but it’s just amazing, I feel uber cool whenever I wear this and I think you should get one too.
I first saw this colour on one of my girlfriends from back home and she looked absolutely beautiful in it. From then on, I knew I had to have it too. I love wearing this colour because even though it’s a little dark I still find that it’s very neutral and versatile. I could wear it for the evening and/or during the day for brunch or shopping. It’s one of my main go-to lipsticks.
Eyebrow pencil in Brown by Daiso
I only recently started to join the eyebrow “trend” – I took it slowly at first by using eyeliner because I didn’t want to spend big bucks on an actual eyebrow make up tool. I also didn’t know which one to purchase as well so I had to suffice with eyeliner for now. To be honest, I didn’t do it often until I bought an actually eyebrow pencil from Daiso during my Melbourne trip in May and when I went back to Melbourne this month I ended up purchasing a different type from Daiso as well. The only thing is, the one I am currently using from Daiso is actually a dark brown and I think I would prefer it to be black. It was a big bang for my buck though but in saying that, I don’t know any better anyway.
I do however; want to purchase a eyebrow pencil by Hourglass which was highly recommended by a colleague of mine.
If you are going to be out all day and you don’t want to have to worry about reapplying throughout the day then Kylie Matte Lipkits is the way to go. I personally love them and keep Candy K in my bag at all times.
It’s not often that I repurchase a make-up product so when I do then it’s generally a good sign that it’s a “must have” and Nars Laguna bronze is one of those items that I have to repurchase once it’s finished. I recently purchased another one a couple of weeks ago after running out a few months back. Again, the price isn’t ideal but you gotta do what you gotta do for the items you are obsessed with.
I don’t have this mascara yet but Jenn let me try hers when I was in Melbourne (as well as her Mabelline concealer as mentioned above). It’s a smudge free formular and it’s safe to say… it lives up to its name. Although I do love my Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Mascara I really liked the estee lauder mascara even more.
I first saw this item being featured on Dina Tokio’s make up tutorial and I absolutely loved it. Jenn has one so I also got to try this baby out and loved it even more. I still have yet to purchase this baby, the time will come…
I discovered this cream this time last year but my colleague at the time didn’t know where it was from because she got it from her sister. I then rediscovered this by my girl, Hayley from work who had this at work. I finally know where I can get myself one and cannot wait to purchase my own. I absolutely love the formula of this lotion as a hand cream and the smell is absolutely divine. I don’t like scents that are way too strong but this one is just absolutely light and beautiful. I highly recommend it and if you suffer from dry hands like myself then you should definitely get your hands on this lotion. You can purchase this on line (click on the link above) but you have to register in order to purchase anything as the company is exclusive.
Now that you have seen the products I am currently using I’d love to hear what products you are using and what your recommendations are for me to try in future. I love to experiment and try new things, but I only ever try new beauty products if they have been recommended to me and/or I have personally tried it already.
P.s. If you’re based in Canberra, come visit me at the Fash’n’Treasure market today from 10am to 3pm at EPIC. Entry is $3.00!
