Beauty products to help survive the humidity in Darwin
I’m no beauty guru but lately I have been in the mood to provide content relating to when I go back home where the sun literally burns your skin to the point you think you are close to the gates of hell. (ok, not really). This is phase one, phase two will be all about my top summer clothing that I would like to pack in my suitcase.
I have grown to appreciate beauty a lot more as the years go on (although, I still prefer to buy new shoes over foundation). However, in the last couple of months (when I ran out of my BB Cream) my make up routine has thoroughly reduced to only wearing concealer to cover the sleepiness under my eyes. I also can’t seem to leave the house without doing my brows, what have I become?
I never got used to the humid in Darwin given that I was born and raised there. So now that I don’t live there anymore and haven’t visited since August last year, I know it’s going to be even harder to bare. In my mind I think it’s not as bad as one would think but then deep down in my mind I know it’s going to be really, really gut wrenching HOT!
So, I did some research and collated a couple of products that were highly recommended as well as products that I have already used before, that will be great to use while I am holidaying in Darwin. So without further ado here are the products that should have you looking flawless for the humidity.
I never knew that Frank Body had introduced skincare products to their range. I always thought they only stocked body scrubs (which are pretty amazing BTW) so when I found out about their everyday face moisturiser, I was instantly intrigued. I mean, if this smells as good as their body scrubs then you are in for a treat.
Apparently this moisturiser is light-weight so it will be perfect for the heat. I wonder if it will be a holy grail for the Darwin heat. I might have to give this a swing while I am home for the Christmas break.
I must sound like a broken record but I can’t recommend this Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream enough. I still haven’t bought another one since I last mentioned it here but rest assured, it’s a product that’s worth purchasing again. The formula is light-weight and is in fact perfect for summer weather, including the humidity. This product has already been trialed by yours truly and it’s only $20.
Having smudged mascara under your eyes is never a good look and this Estee Lauder double wear zero smudge lengthening mascara is a must have. Also trialed and tested ladies, works like a gem.
With summer being all about bikini’s and beaches (not for me, anyway), it also calls for protecting your skin from the harsh sun. Apparently this Neutrogena sunscreen is great so you don’t feel “smothered and/or overheated”. The formula evaporates the sweat away for a cool and clean feel. It’s designed for an active lifestyle (so… not me) but I think it could do the trick while I am in Darwin.
I still have never used a primer in my life (I know, I’m naughty) but if it’s a primer that will help with braving the heat then it’s worth sacrificing $50, I guess. This product is supposed to shrink your pores and brighten your face as well as hold your makeup on tight. Aside from that, you can wear the primer alone for a “pretty” glow. Should I give it a try?
I don’t know if I will need this because the Tea Tree BB Cream gives me a matte finish anyway but this Laura Mercier setting powder apparently adds a nice matte finish without adding additional colour and keeps your makeup in place regardless of the summer humidity. I don’t know if it’s worth buying if I’m already going to be applying the primer as well as it does the exact same thing. What do you think?
Oh yes, this Nars purifying foam cleanser is certainly a product to invest in as not only did this product last me approximately a year and a half but it’s sufficiency is outstanding. Although it’s naughty but you don’t even need to wipe your face with make up remover first, this will do the trick. Perfect way to wind down when you are getting ready to hit the sheets after a long day sweating it out in the hot humid sun. I can’t rave this product enough!
