A birthday to remember
So, if you don’t know… It was my birthday yesterday and it was pretty amazing if I do say so myself.
Not only did my best friend in the entire world fly to Canberra to celebrate but my hubby spoiled me rotten with all things Selena Quintanilla! His card was the icing on the cake, I cried… I have a video as proof!
This past weekend consisted with a lot of eating and a bit of shopping and random tourist sites here and there which was pretty awesome.
The weekend kicked off with Jenn arriving a bit before 8pm on Friday and we headed to the Hamlet for a very late but delicious dinner. We headed home and just kicked back with a couple of rounds of Monopoly Deal Cards before hitting the sheets.
Saturday was a big day for us… We woke up early-ish and grabbed ourselves coffee from a local cafe in our suburb followed by making a pit stop at the Farmers Market which is held every Saturday morning from seven to eleven. I really wanted to check out these delicious donuts that Bec from Inexplicable Wanderlust shared on her insta page a couple of times from Bombolini. Idrus and Jenn were not fans but I sure was.
We drove past Braddon as I had two vouchers to spend at my favourite local boutique called Rebel Muse and wanted to buy these white Nobody Denim’s which I have been lusting over for yonks. I also hadn’t visited the gorgeous girls at Rebel Muse in months and thought it was way overdue. We made our way down Lonsdale Street to the Designer Op Shop aswell, as I knew Jenn would like it.
The rest of the day consisted of going to Floriade, Parliament House so Jenn could take a photo, Old Parliament House so I could take a photo, Plush because Jenn wanted my opinion on a couch that she was interested in getting for her home. We then went to the DFO as Idrus wanted to purchase some cologne and I wanted to see if I could find any bargains at Trades Secret with my $100 voucher that TS sent me for being their Style Secrets winner. I scored a camo print jacket for only $18 by the brand, Junk. I know we are coming into summer but I have been wanting a camo print jacket for quite some time now and for $18? Well, you’d be silly to put it back on the racks and leave empty handed.
Saturday concluded with an amazing dégustation evening at Eightysix located in Braddon. I’ve dined here before when Rebel Muse turned one and it did not disappoint. After dinner, we went home and I finally was allowed to open my packages which held the Mac Selena collection and to my surprise… Idrus had another present for me with a beautifully and humorous written card. Idrus surprised me with not one, not two but three different printed t-shirts with Selena. One of them coming directly from Q-Productions which is owned by the Quintanilla family themselves.
Sunday, the day I turned a year older. We had a delicious brunch at Doubleshot and of course I had my coffee, duh! We also decided to walk around Canberra Centre but then I wanted to buy another item from Rebel Muse which is the gorgeous Asilio the Label – Good Fortune Skirt. After purchasing the skirt, we ordered 12 Fried Chickens from Greased Monkey for lunch and went home to cook some rice. Best idea ever!
After having another long day, we decided to spend the rest of my birthday relaxing before it was time to drop Jenn off to the airport.
Although I would have loved to spend my birthday with the family aswell, Idrus and Jenn sure did make it special and am so lucky to have spent it with them nevertheless.
I hope you liked a few of my sneaky snippets from the weekend which were taken via my phone, nothing special. Thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday, it really means the world to me. Until next time.
